Awards, awards, awards!
You may remember from our previous newsletter that over the past few months ASB have been entering into various different competitions across the sport and architectural sectors. In February we kicked off our efforts with a win in the ISPO Award and we were selected as GOLD Winners in the category Teamsport. This was the first of several more. ASB On TV! – Joko & Klaas TV Series
We spent a few weeks at the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich where the recording of the new series Joko & Klaas against ProSieben was taking place.
ASB RentalSolutions provided the 216m² LumiFlex floor that was used as the stage/performing area for the duration of the filming. The video content provided utilised LumiFlex’s capabilities tremendously well. Not only did the floor provide each game with a unique scene-setting background, it also reduced the amount of external stage props required for the games. Things such as starting lines, filming zones, instructions and lyrics were all displayed directly on the floor.
The floor proved to be a useful asset for the performers and crew; aspects of film production such as scene changes and stage cues were all performed smoothly by the LumiFlex floor.
For the studio audience and viewers at home, the floor provided a spectacle that is both aesthetically pleasing and informative, allowing them to keep track of proceedings throughout.

We’re happy to announce that we’ve moved on from being FIBA Equipment & Venue Associates to FIBA Equipment & Venue Technical Partners. Both variations of our GlassFloor – MultiSports and LumiFlex – are included.
Recently completed projects
St. Georges College, Weybridge, UK
MultiSports floor, 1,559m²
One of our installation teams have recently arrived back in Germany after completing the construction of the new MultiSports installation down at St. Georges College. This will be our second MultiSports installation located in the UK – the first being Oxford University. The state of the art facility will house our 1,599m² MultiSports floor and accommodate a total of 10 sports. Once the activity centre has been opened for use, you will be able to find pictures and videos on our social media channels (scroll to bottom for links).
Here are a few pictures of the completed MultiSports floor. Excuse the dust on the glass, the site is still very much a busy construction site! For this reason the floor has been wrapped up and sealed, presumably it will stay like that until the grand opening.
Sol Gymnase, Chalons en Champagne, France
MultiSports floor, 459m²
A second team of installers have recently returned back home after the completion of another MultiSports installation. This time at a school in Champagne, France. The 459m² MultiSports floor will have a total of four sports with the addition of a set of geometric shapes; this is to assist in the cognitive training of their students.

We have welcomed four new members into the ASB family since the last newsletter was released…
For the photoshoot, we took them to the starting point of ASB GlassFloor’s journey – a local high school which is home to the world’s first MultiSports floor. A fitting location to mark the start of their journey with ASB. Don’t you think?

German Innovation Award 2019
The German Innovation Award is one of the most prestigious innovation awards in Europe, if not the world. It recognises outstanding examples of innovation and design across a wide range of different areas.
The organisation behind the award are the German Design Council – Germany’s leading design authority – who have been around for over 65 years and operate in all areas of design.
We entered our LumiFlex floor into the category „Travel, Sports & Outdoor Goods“.
After months of waiting for the ceremony we are delighted to announce that our entry was selected as the GOLD Winner! We are very proud to join the illustrious list of victorious innovators that has built up over the years!
Sports Business Award 2019
The Sports Business Awards aims to recognise the efforts of individuals and organisations within the sports sector, that are actively changing and improving the industry for everyone’s benefit.
We entered LumiFlex and MultiSports into the category „Sports Innovation Award“…
We are very proud to announce that we won the Silver Award! The panel of judges were blown away by what our floor has to offer: „A brilliant innovation with implications for the creation of sports facilities everywhere.“ – SBA Judging Panel.
DNA Paris Awards 2019
DNA Paris Design Awards is an accolade honoring the work of international architects and designers, who improve our daily lives through practical, beautiful and innovative design.
We entered DeepLumen into the category: Interior Design – Installation.
The judges selected our entry as winners for our category; this marks the first award win for ASB Architectural!
European Product Design Awards 2019
The European Product Design Awards is an award recognising the efforts of international product designers.
We entered LumiFlex into the category: Event Supplies – Flooring.
The judges selected our entry as GOLD Winners for our category… The top of our category!
